Satkara- Unleashing the Spirit of Sattriya in collaboration with Indira Gandhi National Centre for the Arts is organizing "Sattriya Baithak", a panel discussion on "Taking Sattriya beyond the boundaries of Sattra and Assam".

Come and listen to Padma Shri, Sangeet Natak Akademi awardee and Sangeet Natak Akademi Ratna, Nrityacharya Guru Jatin Goswami speak his mind on Sattriya Culture. The other distinguished panelists are Guru Sharon Lowen - eminent Odissi dance exponent, Guru Nisha Mahajan - eminent Kathak dance exponent, Shri Debasish Mahanta - Cultural Secretary, Gurgaon Assam Association & executive committee member, Asom Sattra Mahasabha, Delhi; and Shri Geetartha Darshan Barua, President, APWA, Noida.

This programme will also have Jhumura Nritya performance by the students of Satkara and Bhortal Nritya performance by Oonmona Das and Arpita Dutta.

This event is curated by Meenakshi Medhi with the sole aim of taking Sattriya movement beyond the boundaries of Sattra and Assam. I request all of you to join us and be part of this initiative.
